Bar Codes: Then and Now

With the development of 2D bar codes, mobile scanning gives marketers and companies a new way to disperse information. Consumers are stepping in to the mix, gathering information on the go, by simply scanning a bar code with their camera phones. Companies are beginning to leverage the power of 2D bar codes in their marketing promotions; and below is a snapshot of the current bar code industry, where it’s heading and how it got there.


I love the picture of the first barcode in use. Clearly not meant for the scale of use it has grown into.
I really like the idea behind this infographic, but it was rather incohesive. Interesting topic, though.
