Coverage and Why You Need It

Depending on which state your business is located, your state insurance department will have a number of insurance requirements that you need to fulfill.

Why It’s Required?
General Liability
Often required by the vendors for whom your business does work and sometimes by your state in case they injure anyone or damage property due to your work.
EPLI (Employment Practices Liability)
Protects businesses when legal action is brought against them for allegations like Harassment, Discrimination or Wrongful Termination.
Property Insurance
Typically required by the bank that holds your mortgage, but it can also be required by your landlord in the event you rent a commercial space.
Product Liability
Companies that manufacture, wholesale, distribute, and retail a product may be liable for its safety. Product liability insurance protects against financial loss due to a defective product that causes injury or bodily harm.
Workers’ Comp
Required by most states to protect your own employees if they are injured while working for you. This is typically required when you surpass a certain number of employees.
