Document Management Software Pricing


There are two factors to consider when looking at how to budget for a document management software program. Number one is how large your company is, and the second is if you have decided on a client-server or ASP.
The size of your company will determine what type of hardware and software you will need. For example, if you are a smaller company, you may be able to get away with an entry-level system that includes a server, scanner and software package for around $3,000. On the other hand if you are a larger company it could jump to $80,000 (for 100 users). 
ASPs on the other hand are going to give you another monthly bill. Again the size of you company will become a factor when it comes to pricing. They can range anywhere from $200 to $2,000 a month. Make sure you factor in this monthly cost and any set up fees when budgeting for ASPs.
If security allows, think about keeping your paper files as is, and implement the new system as you are going forward. If you have an extremely large amount of files on hand, converting them to electronic files could become extremely costly.
