Steel Building Price Guide
The price of steel buildings varies greatly based on the details of the project. The larger the building, the more it will cost. Meeting legal specifications will also raise the cost. Typically, thicker and stronger materials are required in cold weather areas where a building has to withstand a certain amount of snow load.
Expect to be charged roughly $15 to $20 per square foot of steel which includes the building materials, delivery, and construction. The larger the residential steel building is, the greater the deal you are going to get when buying materials because you are purchasing in bulk. A warehouse that measures 300’x300’ at $15 per sq. foot will cost $135,000. A 25’x25’ garage at $20 per sq. foot will cost $12,500.
Foundation is another additional cost and averages around $4 to $8 per square foot.
Insulation for a large steel structure can cost thousand of dollars. However, it is a good investment if you are looking to save on energy costs or need to soundproof your building. Insulation will also increase resale value of the building.
