Switching to a VoIP phone system can be done in a matter of days. Before you make the switch, you will need to make sure that you have the necessary components and equipment:
High Speed Internet Connection – Because VoIP systems use an internet connection to place and receive calls, having a high-speed connection is critical. Be sure to test your internet connection before installing a VoIP system, in order to make sure it can support the call volume of your employees.
VoIP Adapters – If you choose to use your current telephones with a VoIP system, you’ll need to purchase adapters that can convert an internet signal into a phone signal. VoIP adapters are usually about $50 each. If necessary, you can also use a microphone and speakers (or a headset) to receive calls using an office computer.
VoIP Phones- If you are using a VoIP system for the first time, and do not have existing phones, you can purchase VoIP phones for several hundred dollars each.
